The Freedom Camper is a lightweight, ultra-insulated truck bed camper designed to fit in a pickup truck, a utility trailer, or a toy hauler platform. Use it as a teardrop camper on a trailer, a box camper for your pickup, or a removable truck camper for flexibility. It fits perfectly in most utility beds, 5×8 trailers, and full-size truck beds, including short beds with the tailgate down.

The Freedom Camper isn’t your average camper. Its proprietary insulation keeps you comfortable down to 20°F, offering a minimalist truck bed sleeper with maximum weather protection. You can even add a 12V AC unit or a ventilation fan.

Choosing between the 48×79, 58×89, and 58×79 Freedom Camper comes down to how you like to adventure. All models are built with the same rugged materials, premium craftsmanship, and go-anywhere spirit.

48″ x 79″ Freedom Camper

Ideal for midsize trucks similar to the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, Ford Maverick, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Nissan Frontier, Honda Ridgeline, and Jeep Gladiator.

The 48″ x 79″ Freedom Camper can also fit in all full-size trucks with the tailgate up. This model requires a raised platform to elevate the camper above your truck’s wheel wells. See our DIY platform instructions.

58″ x 79″ Freedom Camper

Ideal for customers who have 6’6” (tailgate off or down) or 6’9” inch bed (tailgate shut) who are looking to keep the camper compact within their bed without overhanging. This is important if you plan to place your Freedom Camper in your truck bed while hauling a boat or trailer.

This model requires a raised platform to elevate the camper above your truck’s wheel wells. See our DIY platform instructions. If using a Decked Drawer system (or similar system), we recommend this size to limit the amount of overhang over the drawer system.

58″ x 89″ Freedom Camper

The 58″ x 89″ is our biggest seller and gives you a little extra length—perfect for taller campers or those who want more room to stretch out and store gear.

The 89” length makes it optimal to run on all full-size truck beds and 5×8 trailers and larger.

Mounting Options for Trucks or Trailers

The Freedom Camper has two different mounting options to choose from.

Truck Mounting Kit

The system creates a rock-solid hold while allowing quick attachment and detachment. The Truck Mounting Kit also serves as an efficient attachment method for your trailer, eliminating the need for ratchet straps.

Standard with your purchase unless the Truck Mounting Kit is specifically selected, the Trailer Mounting Kit includes six metal plates, six bolts, six washers, and six nuts to attach to trailers.

Yes, the Freedom Camper comes with a 3 Year Manufacturing Warranty. After purchasing a Freedom Camper, please register your camper here.

The Truck Mounting Kit is required if using a truck bed to carry your Freedom Camper. It is optional if using with a trailer.

The truck mounting kit uses four turnbuckles to allow you to quickly and securely attach your camper to the outside rails on your truck bed or attachment points in your trailer. If selected, this kit will be shipped inside your camper. The Truck Mounting Kit includes: x8 side mount plates, x4 d-rings, x12 hardward, x4 turnbuckles, as well as an instruction manual.

The trailer mounting kit is recommended if you are planning to permanently or semi-permanently affix your camper to your trailer. If selected, this kit will be shipped inside your camper.

The Trailer Mounting Kit includes: x6 floor mount plates, x6 hardware, instruction manual.

Yes, it’s designed with premium insulation to keep occupants warm and dry in various weather conditions. From the middle of winter to the peak of summer, the Freedom Camper is a great way to stay out of the elements when needed.

Due to its ultralight build (180-190 pounds), it requires only two people to load, unload, and store.

The Freedom Camper is intentionally designed as a minimalist basecamp, ready for you to outfit however you like. Whether you want to mount awnings, solar panels, roof racks, a 12V Camper air conditioner, or ventilation fans, the Freedom Camper makes it easy to create a setup that fits your lifestyle.

On the roof, you’ll find two raised composite wood areas—ideal mounting points for racks, awnings, or solar equipment. For fan installation, follow the manufacturer’s instructions as you would with any other camper.

For the 48×79, 58×79, and 58×89 models, a raised platform is required to elevate the camper above your truck’s wheel wells. This not only ensures proper fitment but also creates valuable storage space underneath—what we like to call“the garage.”

Multiple aftermarket drawer systems are compatible with the Freedom Camper.
